Sibu is gearing up for his 2nd Sibu Lantern Festival which will be officially launch on 16th September, less than a week to go!
Lantern hanging works is still in progress and when it is done, there will be about 13,000 to 20,000 colorful lanterns covering the sky of Sibu, along the Island Road up to Sibu Town Square.
The highlight of this year's festive is a 12m tall x 7m wide giant lantern designed with 1Malaysia logo (what a bad idea...) stands in the middle of Sibu Town Square Phase 1.

This year's festival will turn to be more commercial with fun fair, food fair as well as trade fair will be held in conjunction of the festival.
The festival also become part of the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration which falls on 22nd September this year.
